Gilsonite is a naturally occurring resinous hydrocarbon which is sometimes referred to as natural asphalt asphaltum, or uintaite. Uintaite has various industrial applications due to its unique chemical and physical properties. One of the most interesting and useful Gilsonite properties is its magnetic nature.
